vinyl only - limited to 200. after a short hiatus, blossom kollektiv returns with a brand new limited edition vinyl release. this time around industry veteran, matthias vogt, presents his voyeur ep. no stranger to the label, his latest features three deep and melodic cuts with one remix of the title track from tanzlife v id ensemble. starting things out with “voyeur,” we move into beautiful soundscapes that truly tell a story though its lush melodies, while still packing enough punch to get the crowd going in the right moments of a set. followed by tanzlife v id ensemble’s interpretation, they bring a more traditional deep house version replacing the lush melodies with more club ready synth stabs and pads while reworking the composition for the peak moments in the club. now flipping over to the b-side we start with rubin a track full of sunny time vibes. this is the type of track that you’d love to play during the cold and dark months to bring a little temporary sunshine without it actually being sunny. rich deep pads are paired here with uplifting synths and a classic deep house arrangement to bring bright vibes anytime of the year. finally finishing things off with the comeback, we get something a little different with its tribal percussion and once again feel good vibes but the standout here is mathias’s display as a classically trained pianist, which he displays wonderfully throughout the track. one thing that is clear through his years of music composing experience in electronic music and beyond is you can expect finely crafted works of art that work both on the dance floor and as tools to spark your imagination.

pater noster presents their fifth release, aposynthesis by overloper, a side project of ekman.
the a-side brims with tension both contemplative and active. ‘hope you’re close’ is a deep burner, with heavy, pounding bass and an entrancing hook ascending to space. this then escalates into the urgency of ‘aposynthesis (need more sisa)’, in which a driving, rolling rhythm is juxtaposed with an old school, dutch-style rave synth.
the b-side encircles around acid. on one hand, it is coyly playful with ‘carpe noctem’ turning cavernous in innsyter’s dark interpolation of the other.

three releases deep now, shadow play transports us back to the nineties with this extra special collection of music from uk wizard scott edward. the bristolian producer dropped a killer series of tracks from 1993 onwards, using a variety of aliases to explore the realms of the techno universe. it’s an honour for shadow play to be able to rerelease one of scott’s classics, access activist, alongside three previously unreleased cuts from the same era. we hope you enjoy these classic examples of british underground techno.

weve been huge fans of tims work since the release of his first self-titled ep on astrolab. his analogue sound has been described as both death mulch and rare gloom. for his second work for love twelve, he continues the journey into dark spaces with four more deep synth freakers from his fish island school of synthesis studio. after releases on esteemed labels including emotional response, world unknown, bird scarer, hoga nord, rotters golf club (as the asphodells with andrew weatherall) and his own label crimes of the future which he runs with scott fraser, his debut album where is the champion? was released earlier in the year to critical acclaim. tim will continue to push forward and we feel privileged to see him return for a wfl round two.

hvl has landed on many different labels in recent years, but rough house rosie will always be something of a spiritual home for the adventurous deep electro and techno craftsman. across the hidden valley ep he displays a fluid, instinctive approach to composition enslaver rolls out like a live jam but the detail and control embedded in the track is astounding. distom spook is charged with nervous acidic energy, while lemon stealer takes things in a more experimental direction with all manner of snaking synth voices wriggling around a crisp electro beat. crow hill finishes the ep off with a slow, rolling breakbeat groove and hazy pads for a quintessential b2 wind-down session.

the numero groups dive into the deep end of americas private press continues. having battled the witches and wizards of darkscorch, the outlaws of cosmic americana, and traveled alongside ladies from the canyon and their lonesome heroes, its time to take it easy. with pop musics volume knob adjusted for deflation in the early 70s, softness begat smoothness. crewmen arrived from the worlds of jazz, folk, rock, and soul, all peddling a product that was sincere, leisurely, and lofty. a sound that was buoyant, crisp, defined. sometimes classified as west coast and, later, yacht rock the compass points of our private yacht expedition are the blue-eyed harmonies of hall and oates, the cocaine-dusted fender rhodes of michael mcdonald, and the combover strums of james taylor. here, at the glassy apex of rocks softer side, 20 strong swimmers are gathered together. an album for both relaxation and reflection, where listeners can enjoy the present, a cool breeze, and a taste of the good life.

this is the second release from athens isigude records and features 2 fresh, respectful mixes of the track “bar reckless”. the lyrics recall a dialogue between her and a monk whom she met at the bar and asked “what are you doing here old man? this is no place for a saint to be”. on remixing duties we have rising greek producer zaq who takes the greek folk epirotic rhythm deep into a truly aegean balearic beat on the a-side while on the flip side he brings some dubby acidic beats.

swiss producer honorée returns to rekids with maree haute ep this january, featuring two intelligently produced deep cuts with a remix from perlon’s margaret dygas. basel-based artist honorées inaugural release marée basse ep appeared on rekids earlier this year and demonstrated a musical understanding acquired from extensive dj experience within switzerland’s club scene. marée haute ep is honorée’s second outing on rekids and includes a remix from renowned minimal dj/producer and panorama bar regular margaret dygas. dorian delivers crisp drum grooves which underpin mesmerising chord progressions, haunting synthesizer motifs and spacey vocals before 208 provides infectious drum rhythms, glitched vocal cuts and hypnotic melodies which sit on top of a rumbling low-end. margaret dygas take on dorian offers a pulsating bass hook and sharp percussion which lays the foundation for dubbed-out synths and ethereal atmospheres to close the release.
